Stunting is a very difficult skill. The person on top, known as the flyer, has to put all her trust in the people holding her up in the air. There are four to five people in a stunt group. There is the flyer (who is on the top), the back-spot (person behind the flyer), the main base (person on the right of the flyer), the side base (person on the left of the flyer), and sometimes the front base (person in-front of the stunt).
Everyone in the stunt has a different job to keep the flyer up in the air. The back-spots job is to push the flyer up in the air and pull her ankles up so the bases do not have all the weight of the flyer. The bases job is to hold on the the flyers foot and use their leg muscles to push the flyer up into the air. The flyers job is to push off the bases lock her legs and be tight in the air so its less weight on the bases. If one person in the stunt group messes up their role, there could be consequences and the flyer could be seriously injured. It is important that everyone works together and does there job for the stunt to get the flyer up in the air.
