Recording the Visit
When I first arrived at the practice before the game the girls all told me to stretch. "Stretching helps so you will not pull a muscle or have an easier chance of getting a strain or sprain." said Jenn, cheer coach. After we stretched we warmed up are jumps. We did toe-touches, herkes, and pikes. Every time a girl would not jump or talked while jumping the coaches would make you do another jump to improve your jumps and listen more. "The girls can always improve their jumps, even if their the highest. We persuade the girls to stretch and always do better" said Chelsea, head coach. Before the game they practiced their stunts. They did elevators, extensions, extension liberties, and twist ups. "Being a flyer is a lot of work, you have to trust your bases and back-spots a lot, for the stunt to end well" said Jenn, freshman flyer. The game ended well with the team winning, knowing they had fans cheering them on. "It is always fun to come to the basketball games to watch and join along with the cheerleaders in some of their cheers." said Jillian, a fan. I learned a lot from my visit, knowing that a squad is like a family and that all the girls get along so well.
